Study on the Impact of High-Quality Economic Development and Flood Resilience on Flood Damage in the Yangtze River basin: Evidence from Provincial Administrative Regions in the Yangtze River Basin

China’s economic development has shifted from a high-speed growth stage to high-quality stage, which promotes the sustainable of Yangtze River (YR) and also improves response capacity YR basin’s resilience system floods. Flood (FR) is not only just achievement (HQED) but key mitigating flood damage (FD). Therefore, based on panel data 2000 2019 provincial administrative regions (PARs) in basin (YRb), entropy weight method quantitative regression analysis were used empirically investigate impact HQED FR FD YRb. The empirical results show following. (i) an inverted U-shaped effect YRb, meaning that will reach certain point reduce losses. (ii) model, been pushed forward, significantly improve level FR. Various mediating test methods revealed significant negative process mitigate FD. Taken together, this reveals importance insisting implementing model gradually deriving adapted floods high self-organizing self-restoring through development.
